The Pastoral Office of the Diocese of Duluth has restructured the United Catholic Appeal (UCA) into a new appeal which is called the “Ministries Appeal”.  This appeal is just like the UCA, but with the Cathedraticum (the cost to operate the Pastoral Office) no longer included in the appeal.  Instead, the monies raised will only go towards Education & Family, Evangelization & Outreach, and Vocation & Clergy Support.  We are still assessed a goal every calendar year for the “Ministries Appeal” and will need your support to reach this goal, just as we did with the UCA.  We sincerely appreciate your contribution towards the new “Ministries Appeal”.  Should you have any questions, please contact Jennifer Herdman at the St. Mary’s office, 218-666-5334 or email her at  [email protected]  

Cash Donations: Please feel free to put cash in the second collection plate or in your envelope intended for the Appeal.  We use a transmittal form to send this to the Pastoral Office.

Check Donations: Please make your check payable to: “The Ministries Appeal” and in your memo line, please put the Church & City you would like your donation to go towards.  Ex: St. Mary’s – Cook

Envelope Holders: You can still use your envelope designated for United Catholic Appeal, however, you can cross UCA off and write in “Ministries Appeal” and follow the guide line above for Check Donations if using a check.
